Sambazon Organic Energy Drinks Giveaway!

*This is a review from my husband, who drinks energy drinks on a daily basis (non-organic and ugh, have you read the ingredients in some of those - yikes).

Before starting my review of the Sambazon energy drinks, let me first say that I have been drinking a very popular energy drink brand (in a black can) for years. I'm not really sure how I started as they are obviously not the best choice for me. I think it was because I leave for work at 4:30 in the morning and need something to get me through my hour commute and I don't like the taste of coffee (ok, Susan here - I LOVE coffee, he's nuts LOL).

I have tried at least a dozen energy drinks but I think that Sambazon is the first one that definitely has me switching. While I still like the taste of that other name brand, Sambazon beats them on everything else.

I got to try the Jungle Love & the Diet (diet here means, less sugar, not artificial sugar).

Amazon Energy – Jungle Love
: Has an unique flavor due to the acai and is very flavorful. I would say it taste like a mix of raspberry and cranberry without the tartness. It is very clean and refreshing taste without an after taste you get with many other energy drinks. I would think that anyone who likes cranberry and raspberry and is not looking for an overly sweet drink will like it. For those of you energy drinkers that like drinks with a bite, try this at room temperature. It gives it a little more flavor.

Amazon Energy – Diet: I would say it is very similar to the Jungle Love version but with less sugar and a lighter flavor. Probably because it doesn’t have as much sugar. Energy wise they seemed to be the same but the diet version took a little longer.

I don’t think I’m going to miss my daily dose of sodium citrate, sorbic acid, benzoic acid, niacinamide, sodium chloride, Glucuronolactone, Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Suclorose and Cyanocobalamin that is in that other energy drink. I’m going to have to recommend Sambazon energy drinks as the only organic alternative that competes with the non organic brand names. Now I have to wonder why they feel the need to put ingredients in their drinks that do nothing but help preserve and create flavor when Sambazon has obviously found a way.

Susan again, just wanted to show you a sugar comparison:

  • Sambazon Jungle Love = 28.5 grams a can (7 teaspoons)

  • Sambazon Diet = 13.5 grams a can (3.3 teaspoons)

  • Brand Name In Black Can = 54 grams a can (13.5 teaspoons) almost DOUBLE Samabazon's Jungle Love, plus they also add artificial sugars (sucralose; Splenda) to make it even sweeter - yuck!
Ok, so who wants to try to win a case ... maybe for a guy in your life who may be addicted to those other not-so-healthy energy drinks? Maybe for a Father's Day gift?
