Maty’s All Natural Products Review & Coupons!

I was recently asked to do a review for Maty’s Natural products. I read the ingredients and agreed. No dyes, no petrolatum, no sodium benzoate, just natural ingredients.

I wondered how I would do a review on products that were supposed to make you feel better during a cold when I wasn’t sure I would get one and then, almost as though I had jinxed myself, I got that lovely sore throat. It hurt pretty bad for a few days and then came the cough and the stuffy nose. All of this of course happened while my MIL was visiting from out of town for Thanksgiving.

Now was the time to try these products I had been sent to review, so I did:

This ointment you put in your nose with the tube and then use a Q-tip to lubricate your nose. It is oil based (not petroleum) and lemon, grapefruit extract and cayenne pepper. I used it every night of my cold and surprisingly I was able to sleep through the night. I asked my husband if I had been snoring and he said he didn’t hear anything, so I am thinking I was truly able to breathe out of my nose, otherwise, snore fest 2012 totally would have occurred.

I also used the vapor rub. I love the smell of this, it contains Eucalyptus, Wintergreen & Peppermint, so it reminds me of the Mentholatum my parents put on me as a kid only better, since there is no petroleum in this one. It said to rub it on your chest and I did, but I also put some under my nostrils. It says not to do that, but I did it anyway. I’m not sure why, I just remember my Dad putting it under his when I was younger, so I figured why not. I even tried it on the bottom of my feet. I don’t know if any of this helped, but I was able to sleep and function pretty normally during this cold, so I say it definitely helped.

I also tried the cough syrup. I tried both the kids version and the regular version. Both contain honey and olive oil, so they go down smoothly and taste pretty good. I had my now 6 year old try it too and he liked it. You can taste the olive oil, but that isn’t too bad.

It seemed to help with my cough, and my sore throat. It soothed them both, so coughing when I did cough didn’t hurt.

I ended up getting a case of Laryngitis from this cold, so I was a mess. I did not use any other cold medication other than Maty’s, and I think it worked really well. Being up all night hacking is the worse part of a cold for me, and it wakes up everyone in the house, so I was glad I was able to sleep!

I was also happy that everything was natural, no sodium benzoate and the products are made in the USA.

If you are looking for natural remedies for you and your family when they get sick, I would try Maty’s. I don’t like being in that what is going on, wacky state from taking some conventional “so you can rest” medicines, plus they contain all kinds of artificial dyes and preservatives and I don’t notice them working any better than natural products, so I will be using Maty’s next time I get a cold.

If I could change one thing, it would be to add a measuring cup or syringe to the cough syrups, although that isn’t that bad, since it is more wasteful and more plastic to include those. Using a regular spoon is fine.
