Organic Banana Almond Smoothie Recipe

Organic Banana Almond Smoothie

Serves: 1 - 2

  • 1 Organic Banana (medium to large)
  • 1 Cup Organic Almond Milk (unsweetened)
  • ½ Tsp. Organic Cinnamon
  • ½ Tsp. Organic Cardamom

Cut one medium to large size organic banana and place in blender. Add 1 cup of organic almond milk, cinnamon and cardamom. Blend on low to medium setting to ensure the banana chunks become smooth.

Serve in desired glass with straw or alone. Depending on the size of the glass you may get two servings.

I like to serve this as a quick breakfast or afternoon drink and it packs a pretty healthy punch. If you are worried about carageenan in your almond milk, you can make your own. There are a ton of recipes for it on Pinterest. I hope to try one this week.

I also prefer the Spicely brand cardamom to other organic brands. Some of the other brands have an almost soapy undertone that I didn't care for personally.

If you are not a cardamom fan, just try it with cinnamon, but double the cinnamon to 1 teaspoon. I like the spicy flavor addition of the cardamom, but it is still really delicious without it.

You can make this recipe your own in so many ways, add flax seed or chia seeds for some bulk, or choose other spiced like all spice, cloves or ginger to taste. You could also add almond butter to make it thicker and more creamy or plain yogurt, it's up to you!
