Jovial Brown Rice Tagliatelle With Sausage & Peppers Recipe

I love pasta, I could literally eat it everyday. I am lucky I do not have gluten intolerance, because I would miss the pasta I love so much… or would I?

I was sent Jovial Brown Rice Tagliatelle to review and honestly didn’t even know it was gluten-free pasta until I was done eating the entire bowl of Tagliatelle with sausage and peppers!

I’ve tried other gluten-free pasta, but this by far tastes the best. It is smooth, not course like other gluten-free pasta. It has a light, not too nutty taste and works wonderfully with sauce. Definitely a great noodle!

I adapted this recipe below from using Jovial’s organic olive oil and diced organic tomatoes in a glass jar with BPA-free lid. I cannot say enough about those either. I gave up cans long ago because of BPA, and am happy I can have my diced, crushed and whole peeled organic tomatoes for recipes again, sans BPA!

Serves: 4

  • 2 tbsp organic butter
  • 1/4 cup organic onion, grated
  • 1/4 tsp organic dried oregano
  • 2 organic garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 jar Jovial diced organic jarred tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Jovial organic olive oil
  • 1 organic red pepper (sliced)
  • 1 package organic Italian sausage (3 links, sliced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh organic basil, chopped

Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for about 2 minutes. Add oregano and salt and continue to sauté for about 2 minutes until onions start to brown. Add in the crushed garlic and red peppers. Cook for 1 minute, then and in the diced tomatoes.

Turn the sauce to simmer on medium-low for 10 minutes.

In a separate pan, sauté the sliced Italian sausage on medium for 5 minutes. Then add it to the sauce.

Remove sauce from heat. Stir in olive oil and fresh basil. Serve over Jovial Brown Rice Tagliatelle pasta.

My favorite was the checkerboard cookies, a little chocolate, a little vanilla but the ginger spice were my families favorite.
