Organic Shopping Trip Total $8.96

I made a quick trip to Ralph's this week to see what organic items are part of their mega sale event. I picked up a few items (shown above) for $8.96. The shelf price of these items was $41.73.

I saved 78%

The items I got as part of the Mega Event (Buy 10 items; mix-n-match, get $5 off your transaction) were:

(7) Honest Teas $.75 (after mega sales discount)
-$.50/1 Honest Tea Printable & I had some from prior finds at the store
=(1) Free - $.25

(1) Izze Sparkling Juice Drink Pack $3.49 (after mega sales discount; these are not organic, but are to try and curb my hubbies addiction to some "green soda" at work)
-$1/1 Izze Facebook Printable

(2) Kettle Chip Organic Potato Chips $1.49 (after mega sales discount)
-$1/2 Kettle Printable (no longer available) - I should have used the $1/1 in the 1/30/11 RedPlum and paid only $.49 each!

It looks like they doubled my $.50 Honest Tea coupons to $1 and I had 3 of them, so I got a bonus there, since they usually only double (1) like coupon.

I also got

(1) Santa Cruz Organic Apple Juice $4.99
- $.75/1 Santa Cruz coupon I had from the O.N.E coupon books
= $3.99

(1) Voskos Greek Yogurt $1.00
-$.75/1 Voskos Printable

(1) Horizon Organic Single Serve Chocolate Milk $1.00
-$1/1 Horizon Printable (no longer available)

Total $8.96

There were some other organic items in the sale. There new Natural Foods Sale starts on Wednesday with their other weekly ad, so look for that match-up coming Wednesday!

Organic Shopping Trip Total $28.33!

I haven't done this for a while, but since we have some new readers, I thought I would show you what one of my organic shopping trips look like. I was pretty excited to get these deals!

I went to three stores; Target, Henry's and Trader Joe's. I am lucky to have all of these stores within a mile of each other, so I do not have to drive far to go to more then one store.

Target Total= $.47

I got three boxes of Kashi Organic Promise Cereal. I used (2) $3.00 off coupons from RecycleBank, plus (1) $1.50/3 Target Kashi Cereal coupons. I also used (1) $1/1 Kashi Cereal coupon that I had from a Kashi coupon book found at my local Sprouts.

Trader Joe's Total =$6.97

I didn't use any coupons at Trader Joe's since I bought their brand name products. I got the loaf of organic bread, and (2) packages of organic tortillas.

Henry's Total = $20.89

The rest I got at Henry's. I got 10 packages of organic frozen vegetables that were $1.50. I use (10) Cascadian Farms coupons from the Healthy Clippings books. Those coupons do not have the "Healthy Clippings Stores only" restriction on them. That made them just $.50 a bag.

Total for everything on the table = $28.33

Now, it's not an episode of "extreme couponing" or anything, but it is a good example of what an organic shopper can do on a budget.

If you grabbed any great organic deals, leave a comment and let us know how you did!

All Stocked Up On 7th Generation Stuff!

So, did you all make a trip to Toys-R-Us or Babies-R-Us today? I did! Here is how I did:

Total OOP (Out Of Pocket) including tax and with the $5 rebate added in = $33.92 (including tax) for 52 items!

I bought the organic cotton tampons even though they were not included in the B1G1 50% sale, because after coupon they were only .98 cents!

I also got the BabyGanics for .98 cents each. Those products are all B1G1 Free, and were on clearance for $1.98 each. Check out how Proverbs31 Gal did with the BabyGanics sale!

I had so much fun! The Manager at one of my stores was even excited that I was buying so much stuff! I'm exhausted LOL!

Way Too Much Fun At Babies-R-Us!

I went to Babies-R-Us to see what deals I could find from my deals post and had WAY too much fun there!

The clearance food was completely wiped out, but I was able to get the Happy Baby Organic food items for $1.89 each, which is pretty good. We had not tried the yogurt melts, and they are seriously yummy! Even my husband was raving about them and told me I could put them in his lunches for work LOL.

I bought 19 Seventh Generation Products. I only bought the items that were on clearance and I made sure that I bought them in groups of $30.00, so I could get the $5.00 off promo as well as the 25% coupon. The Seventh Generation Tampons were $2.15 after discounts & coupons.

I also used the $2.00 off any (2) Seventh Generation Products coupon in the Mambo Sprouts Extreme Winter Coupon book. Plus, I received a $10/$50 total purchase coupon in the mail as well and I used that 1st. PLUS, they have a BabyGanics sale, B1G1 50% off (25% off each). This is working on clearance items!!!

Total before all coupons and discounts was $131.38, after was $69.20 ($8.20 of which was tax!)

Now, here is the trick to reading your receipt at Toys-R-Us & Babies-R-Us. They put the total saved at the bottom of the receipt, however, that total saved does not include manufacturer coupons! So, you have to add your manufacturer coupon amounts to that number to see how much you actually saved.

More tips to make the clearance deals even better:

  • If you buy BabyGanics clearance products to get the B1G1 50% off, buy 2 items that are the same price, because the 50% will come off of the lowest priced item.
  • If you buy Seventh Generation clearance products, buy them in multiples of $30.00 (or as close to $30) so you can maximize the $5/$30 promotion.
  • Use manufacturer coupons on top of the promos & clearance store coupons to maximize your savings.
That was a really fun shopping trip and I had the nicest cashier, who was very patient and accurate with my coupons!

This Week's Organic Shopping Trip 2.3.10

Had to make two quick trips this week. I went to Ralph's & Sprout's. I don't usually buy canned soup (because of the BPA), but they were FREE after coupon, and I know I can give them to our food pantry. Ralph's had them for .79 and I had $1.00 off coupons.

At Ralph's, they paid me $2.64 for the following:

(1) Organic Celery
(1) Organic Broccoli
(5) Cans of Organic Muir Glen Soup
(1) Pack of Yo Kids Yogurt
(4) Stonyfield Yogurts
(1) Pacific Organic Almond Milk

I used $2.00 off any (2) Earthbound Farms coupons from Recyclebank, (5) $1.00 off coupons on the soup, and a $13.00 Ralph's rewards credit. I could have done even better, but my printer ran out of ink, so I didn't have ANY Stonyfield coupons with me :(

At Sprout's I paid $41.70. I love the Rustic Crust pizza's and they ended up being $3.99 each. Regular price on those is $10.49! That's a 62% savings! I also used the $5.00 off $35.00 coupon from Recyclebank.

I'll probably do one more trip tomorrow for some of the produce on sale at Henry's, and a few other items, but this was a really good week!

So, how did you all do? Did anyone find any great organic deals this week? If so, please leave the link to your blog post below. If you don't have a blog, that's ok, please let us know what you found in the comments!
